Ever thought of taking up bowls?  Free coaching sessions are available via our Secretary and you can download our guide for new bowlers here.

Looking for a venue for a club tour?

We've have had a number of successful matches against clubs touring locally and also by those either on the way to their tour, or on their way back home.  We can offer you a buffet on arrival, a meal after the match, tea & biscuits or any combination of your choice.  For those on a rest day we are only a short walk away from Reading's famous Oracle shopping centre or how about a walk beside the Kennet & Avon canal?  There is even a bus stop right outside the club!  For further enquiries send us an email.

Men’s National Top Club Runners Up [see team photo]

A highly successful season for Reading culminated in the men’s team becoming runners up in Bowls England Top Club competition.

Having reached Leamington with a victories over Poplar and Mychett, our men achieved a 4-1 victory over New Lount in the quarter finals. A Sunday morning semi-final victory 4½-½ over Royal Wootton Bassett brought a deserved afternoon final against the holders Kings BC (Devon). Kings experience proved decisive with a clear win, leaving Reading with the fantastic achievement of being the top club but one in the country!

Many congratulations to our players at Leamington, BJ (2-wood), Lloyd (singles), Darren & Robert (pairs), Tom, Neil & Gary (triples) and Danny, Paul, Simon & Jon (fours).
